FACILITIES:

Library Learning Resource Centre (LRC):

LRC is a back bone of academic and research activities of the College and has been catering to the information needs of the faculty members, students, staff, and research scholars.
It has around 1300 volumes and 5300 books and many e-journals which are covering the disciplines of Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics and Materials Science, Humanities, Management and other areas related to Engineering, Science and Technology. The collection comprises printed documents such as books, reports, theses, standards, atlases, patents and back volumes of journals. The non-book collections include material like audio/video cassettes and CDROM discs etc.

The SIET is subscribing IEEE, ACM, Springer Link and LNCS digital libraries.

LRC is also member of Developing Library :

The LRC has 4200 sq. ft. covered building which can accommodate around 150 users at a time to carry out academic and research activities such as reading books, accessing electronic journals, internet, computer programming and software development etc. It is connected to high speed internet and intranet of SIET network.A library is the life blood of an academic institution. Our institution encourages all students and staff members to make best use of the library. The Library is aesthetically located in a central place near the main entrance of the college and is very prominently housed, is fully computerized and modern setup, with reference section, magazine section and stack area. Presently, it stacks more than 11800 Books and reference volumes. It has subscribed for more than 50 Journals, among them one third is Foreign Journals.

To quench the thirst of students the Library has many Encyclopedias, World Books, Dictionary and General Books written by noted authors.

Newspapers, weekly and fortnightly magazines of repute are subscribed to enable the students to keep abreast of day to day trends.

Library serves as a resource center and aims to develop a comprehensive collection of document’s useful for faculty and students of the institute and provides an efficient dissemination of knowledge.

Library Hours: Library is kept open on all working days except general holidays. Working hours is as follows : > Regular Days 9.00 Hrs to 16.00 Hrs > Saturdays: 9:00 Hrs to 13.00 Hrs

Transport:

The transport facility is provided by the institute to the student & staff . The college runs the buses throughout the Shamli, Baraut, Muzaffarnagar, & also to the Karnal. For this facility the nominal charge is paid by the students.

Hostel:

The college is having separate excellent well-furnished hostel facility for Boys and Girls.

The campus presently has the separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. This year the rooms are triple sharing with attached bath and toilets.

The administration of hostel is administered by a faculty member for boys hostel and girls hostel respectively as the Hostel Wardens. The overall charge of student's discipline and hostel administration vests in the Chief Warden. All the hostel rooms are provided with wi-fi connectivity with 24 hours internet through the main server of the academic block, reading rooms and additional sports facilities like table-tennis rooms.

The hostel is also connected with outdoor sports centers for lawn-tennis, basket-ball, volley-ball and badminton. The hostels are equipped with generators in order to provide 24 hour's electricity supply, water heaters, water freezer etc.

Laboratory:

Laboratories are an integral and important constituent of any educational setup. With this firm belief, Institute has invested generously in all laboratories making them well lit, airy and aesthetically designed from ground up. All laboratories have the latest equipments, instruments required for academic and research purposes.

Student Development Programme :   

Aiming at the holistic development of Engineering & Management students of SIMS, we had a tie-up with Advait Life Education Pvt. Ltd. Advait is a Noida based organization founded by alumni from IIM Ahmedabad & IIT Delhi. Currently this origination is training more than 25,000 Engineering and Management students throughout northern India, with the help of trained and experienced professionals.

The Department of Physical Education organizes Inter- Department sports meet for students in various disciplines. Indoor Games like Table Tennis, Carom, Chess, etc. and outdoor games like Volley Ball, Foot Ball, Cricket, Throw Ball, Badminton, etc.

Lecture Halls & Conference Hall :
At SIET, lecture halls are thoughtfully designed to induce high quality learning atmosphere. These lecture halls are well equipped with modern teaching aids like overhead projector, multimedia aids, LCD, etc.

Computer Centre:
The Institute has a large number of computer systems network for high-end programming, internet surfing and communication building skills that increase efficiency. All relevant licensed software packages are installed in these computers that facilitate the students to become conversant with the latest software technologies. A dedicated 4 MBPS Internet connection, gives more opportunity to the students to know the world and enhance their wisdom.

Mess & Cafeteria

A separate multi purpose complex in the campus provides excellent messing facilities for all students, staff, faculty and visitors. The mess can cater up to 100 persons at a time. Food preparation and catering are on contract basis but under the direct supervision of the messing committee comprising of faculty and student representatives. The added facility of cafeteria is also functioning at SIET providing snacks, tea, coffee, cold drinks etc. to students and visitors.
